By Krishna Nand Prasad
Sunny day
We met
Both of us in deep conversation
And I knew
I was with the honourable
A great man.
Recall Sidney King
Not of heights then respect
Now viewing an icon
A worthy one of respect.
We spoke
Of solutions
We spoke of life
And I trembled with awe
That I was with an immortal mortal.
The journey ended,
He said to me:
I cannot understand
How men can dictate whether
We live or die
The gist.
The first and last.
Now I hear he is no more with us
In body
But who can eliminate the spirit for freedom
Soaring to ever remind us
We are what we make of ourselves.

On standby with hand outstretched are 27,000 Guyanese. They have given their labours to Guyana. They are NIS...Freedom of speech is our core value at Kaieteur News.
