(Kaieteur News) – Since its debut here last January, the new AI-powered Learning Management System (LMS) platform —Edugoal Global has expanded its reach to cater for learners and educators throughout the length and breadth of Guyana.
Guyanese-American Founder/Creator of the platform, Dr. Donica Thompson Chan explained that Edugoal’s focus is now making access to high-quality education through technology even more readily available.
Dr. Donica Thompson Chan explained “Initially, our focus was on institutional partnerships and educational systems. However, we recognized that many students and families needed immediate access to personalized learning support regardless of their location or school affiliation. Making EduGoal publicly accessible allows us to reach individual learners, parents, teachers, and schools directly.”
She said that her team’s goal is to ultimately remove barriers to learning and ensure that every child, whether in an urban center or a remote community, can access adaptive learning, self-practice assessments, and educational resources that support academic success.
To make this a reality, the US- registered company has changed its business model to one which favours more consumer access.
Under this model, Guyanese can subscribe to the platform for as low as GYD $1000 or $5 USD per month. Dr. Thompson Chan said the pricing structure was intentionally designed to make the app affordable and accessible.
“Individual subscriptions begin at just $1000 GYD per month or $10,000 GYD annually, with premium tiers offering additional features such as advanced analytics, personalized learning pathways, enhanced assessments, and premium content. We also offer special regional pricing for countries such as Nigeria and other West African countries to ensure affordability in emerging markets.”
For this investment, she said users gain access to AI-powered adaptive learning, self-practice assessments, progress tracking, digital libraries, and offline learning capabilities, personalized learning, curriculum-aligned content, and parent monitoring tools.
“Our goal is to deliver exceptional educational value at a fraction of the cost of traditional tutoring or supplemental educational services,” the founder added.
According to her, EduGoal Global has been evolving into a comprehensive AI-powered educational ecosystem serving learners from Preschool through Grade 12.
She said one of the most significant achievements has been the successful development of the EduGoal LMS and mobile application, designed to support students, teachers, parents, school leaders, and ministries of education.
“We have expanded our platform to include adaptive learning, self-practice assessments, progress monitoring, digital resources, parent engagement tools, and specialized support for inclusive education. Additionally, EduGoal has established partnerships and collaborations across the Caribbean while positioning itself as a scalable solution capable of supporting education systems at the national, district, school, classroom, and family levels,” Dr. Thompson Chan added.
And although EduGoal Global remains in its growth phase, she said the platform has already contributed meaningfully to educational innovation in Guyana through teacher training, educational consulting, curriculum support, special education advocacy, AI integration initiatives, and digital learning solutions.
Beyond these shores, EduGoal Global has engaged with stakeholders, educators, policymakers, and institutions throughout the Caribbean and beyond.
The company has explored partnerships and opportunities across multiple Caribbean nations while also expanding its reach into African markets. Their work includes educational consulting, digital transformation planning, AI integration and consultancy, teacher professional development, curriculum alignment, and the development of scalable education technology solutions.
The creator underscored that the platform was intentionally designed to be adaptable to different curricula and educational systems, making it suitable for regional and international implementation.
To this end, she asserted that the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Teachers appreciate the platform’s ability to support differentiated instruction, create lesson plans and assessments, grade exams, track student progress, and provide additional resources that enhance classroom teaching. Parents value the transparency and visibility they have into their children’s learning journey. Students enjoy the interactive and personalized nature of the platform, particularly the ability to learn at their own pace.”
She posited “Feedback also plays a vital role in the app’s ever evolving development. “We believe that meaningful innovation occurs when technology is built with users rather than simply for them, and we remain committed to continuous improvement…”
The founder believes EduGoal Global has a transformative role in shaping the future of education by helping bridge the gap between traditional educational systems and the demands of a rapidly evolving digital world.
According to her, the company’s mission extends beyond technology; it is about creating opportunities, promoting equity, and empowering learners to succeed regardless of their background or circumstances.
She asserted, “Regionally, we hope to support governments, schools, and communities in accelerating educational transformation. Globally, we aim to contribute to a future where personalized, inclusive, and technology-enabled learning is not a privilege for a few but a reality for all.”
