(Kaieteur News) – A couple was found shot to death on Saturday in what appeared to be a murder/ suicide at a La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara residence.
According to a police report, the deceased have been identified as Ana Trotman, 42, a shop owner, and John Trotman, 47, of Onderneeming, West Bank Demerara.
The police reported that the incident which occurred between 21:45hrs and 22:15hrs, also left 59-year-old woman nursing gunshot injuries. She is currently at a hospital receiving treatment.
The police disclosed that based on preliminary information, an argument reportedly occurred at the residence shortly before several loud explosions were heard.
“Police ranks and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, where Ana Trotman and John Trotman were found with suspected gunshot injuries,” the police stated.
The bodies of the man and woman were taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival and were later taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Home, where they are awaiting post-mortem examinations.
During the investigation, detectives recovered a Taurus .32 caliber pistol, nine spent .32 calibre shells and 30 live rounds of ammunition which was lodged pending investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
