The tournament, which marked the first outdoor hockey competition of the 2026 season, was hosted by the Guyana Hockey Board with support from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Having entered the final on the back of two commanding victories, GCC wasted little time asserting themselves. National standout Rebecca Ferreira opened the scoring within the opening minute before Alana Chung doubled the advantage in the 14th minute, slicing through the Hikers defence to give GCC a comfortable 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.
Hikers briefly threatened a response when Maria Munroe found the back of the net in the 19th minute, but GCC quickly regained control. Gabriella Xavier restored the two-goal cushion in the 26th minute before Cadogan converted a penalty corner four minutes later to send GCC into the halftime break firmly in command at 4-1.
The third quarter belonged entirely to the champions. Princessa Wilkie struck shortly after the restart before Cadogan added two more goals in the 38th and 43rd minutes to complete her hat-trick and put one hand on the trophy for GCC Women.
Ferreira and Chung returned to the scoresheet in the final quarter to complete individual braces as GCC sealed a dominant 9-1 victory and another Women’s outdoor title.
In the Men’s final, Pepsi Hikers produced a disciplined performance to defeat Old Fort Top Form 4-2 and secure the championship.

Shane Samuels led the charge with a brace, opening the scoring in the fifth minute to hand Hikers an early advantage. Veteran Robert France doubled the lead in the 28th minute, ensuring Pepsi Hikers carried a comfortable 2-0 cushion into halftime.
Old Fort eventually clawed one back in the 36th minute to inject some life into the contest, but Samuels responded almost immediately with his second goal of the evening to restore the two-goal margin. Trumaine Cole then added a fourth in the 47th minute, effectively putting the result beyond doubt before Old Fort netted a late consolation. At the final whistle, Pepsi Hikers emerged 4-2 winners to capture the 2026 Men’s Outdoor Hockey title.
Meanwhile, during the post-match presentation ceremony, Jamarj Assanah of Pepsi Hikers was named the Men’s Most Valuable Player, while Carolyn Deane received the Women’s MVP award.
