Venezuelan national arrested for gun possession
(Kaieteur News) – A 26-year-old Venezuelan national was arrested for possession of a gun while at a business establishment at Prospect Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
The other items discovered during the exercise.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Thursday said that a report was made about the man entering a business place with a firearm.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that Police received a report that a male had entered a business place and was later observed with what appeared to be a firearm. Acting on information received, ranks proceeded to Prospect Housing Scheme, where they contacted a 26-year-old male Venezuelan national,” police said.
Ranks were led to a construction site in the area where a search was conducted and a black pistol with an empty magazine was found hidden. Several cellular phones and a Rambo type knife were also discovered. All items were lodged pending further investigations and the suspect remains in custody.
