Kaieteur Sports – Despite challenging weather conditions, reigning Region Four champions President’s College once again showcased their quality, successfully defending their title in the East Coast Demerara leg of the Blue Water Girls’ U15 National Championship at the National Training Centre on Saturday.
The competition opened with Annandale Secondary recording a convincing 5-0 victory over first-time participants Lancaster Secondary.
President’s College then took centre stage, producing a dominant display with a 6-0 win over Annandale Secondary before concluding their campaign in emphatic fashion with an 11-0 triumph against Lancaster Secondary.
A notable highlight of the tournament was the race for the Most Outstanding Player award, which resulted in a tie between Presidents College standouts Neisa Lewis and Luiza Pugsley. Both players delivered exceptional performances throughout the Region Four competition, earning the well-deserved recognition after playing instrumental roles in their school’s successful title defence. The talented duo each netted five goals during the tournament, leading Presidents College’s attacking charge and further establishing themselves among the competition’s brightest young talents.
Adding to the excitement, Dora Secondary successfully defended their Region Four East Bank Demerara title on Friday, June 5, defeating Friendship Secondary 2-0 to retain their championship crown and continue their impressive run in the competition.
With skill, determination, and impressive performances across both the East Coast and East Bank corridors, Presidents College and Dora Secondary reaffirmed their status as the teams to beat in Region Four, once again emerging as regional champions. Congratulations to all participating schools for contributing to another exciting day of girls’ football and showcasing the continued growth and development of the women’s game in Guyana.
