Kaieteur Sports – The 11th edition of the National Sports Commission Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport Janet & Cheddi Jagan Windball Cricket competitions is continuing.
The competitions are organised and coordinated by Senior Sport Office Allister Munroe.
The boys are playing for the Cheddi Jagan trophy while the females are playing in the Janet Jagan edition.
Hope Secondary captured the Janet Jagan Girls Final.
One game was played in the Region 4 East Coast zone and Hope Secondary School defeated Buxton Secondary to come out as champion.
In a low scoring affair, Hope Secondary batted first and made 33-1 off their allotted five overs.
Hope Secondary did not give up “hope” as their bowlers put in a good effort with the ball to restrict Buxton Secondary to 27- 4 off their allotment of overs. Shakira St Jules was the game top scorer with 15 (3sx4).
Hope Secondary will now play the winner of the East Bank Demerara Zone. (Samuel Whyte)
