Kaieteur Sports – Mother Nature again controlled the ebb and flow of competition as two of yesterday’s three games were abandoned due to bad weather in Guyana and Jamaica, with the next round under close watch.
For yet another game, Guyana and Barbados had what was expected to be a competitive battle, squashed due to bad weather.

Mother Nature again controlled the ebb and flow of competition as two of yesterday’s three games were abandoned.
Much like game 1, both teams were subjected to abandonment of their proposed encounter at the Lusignan Ground without a ball bowled, courtesy of the recent inclement weather which continues to afflict parts of the country.
Over at St. Catherine, home team Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago suffered similar fate to that of the game in Guyana, as their match too was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Windwards made a modest 167 all out in the 36th over batting first, after a contributions from Derwin Lewis (28), Ahmar Lavia (23), skipper Jershaun Joseph (27), Ahmaud Williams (26) and Dylan John (21*) managed to get going.
The Leewards pair of Kamari France (3-23) and Aedan Williams (4-40) bowled well but their team slid to 137 all out after 39.9 overs.
Williams (33), opener Deshawn James scored (29) and Isaiah Harris (23) tried to hunt the total down but had their plans thwarted by some collective bowling from; Nian Davis (3-17), Joseph (2-21), John (2-22) and Kaleb Charles (2-27).
Next round is set for Thursday, with action shifting to the Everest Ground in the city, which should likely increase the chance of Guyana actually having some time in the middle. (Clifton Ross)
