Kaieteur Sports – The roar of engines and the return of competitive karting created an electrifying atmosphere as the 2026 MPS Kart Revival roared to life at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club Kart Circuit, with drivers across multiple classes delivering thrilling performances in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
The event, which signaled a strong resurgence of local karting, brought together seasoned competitors and rising talents, all eager to stamp their authority on the circuit.
From the junior categories to the elite classes, the day was filled with speed, skill, and intense battles for podium positions.
In the Briggs and Stratton Cadet class, young sensation William Vieira powered his way to first place with a composed and confident drive. Vieira held off strong challenges from Asrudeen Mohamed, who secured second, while Nathan Seejatan rounded out the podium in third.
The Cadet division once again highlighted the promising future of Guyana’s motorsport, with all three drivers showcasing impressive control and race awareness.
The Briggs and Stratton Senior Heavy category saw Jeremy Ten-Pow dominate proceedings, converting pace into victory with a commanding performance.
Mikhail Persaud finished second after a consistent run, but was unable to match Ten Pow’s race-winning speed.
Ten Pow would go on to double his success on the day, returning to the track for the SuperMoto Final where he delivered another standout performance to claim top honours. Elan Rahaman (#6) rode strongly to finish second, while Matthew Phang and Andrew Jordan completed the top four in a competitive field.
In the Honda GX200 class, Luis Kumar emerged victorious after a well-controlled race, fending off challenges from Zachary Persaud, who took second place. Shahab Ghanie completed the podium with a solid third-place finish.
One of the marquee categories of the day, the IAME X30 Senior class, delivered high-intensity action as Calvin Ming (#4) proved his class with a dominant drive to first place. Ming’s performance was a testament to his experience and racecraft, as he held off Nicholas Sawh, who finished second, and Benjamin Phang, who secured third.
Ming was not done there. He returned to claim top honours in the Open Class Time Attack, once again showcasing his versatility and speed.
Samuel Seukiree finished second in that segment, unable to topple Ming’s impressive lap times.
Meanwhile, the 555 Speedway Rental Kart races provided entertainment and opportunity for emerging drivers and enthusiasts alike.
In the Under-18 mixed category, Zariah Insanally produced a standout performance to take first place, ahead of Javier Mendonca in second and Miquel McLeod in third.
The Over-18 Male division saw Viraj Sharma claim victory, with Aditya Seetaram finishing second and Akeem Semple securing third.
In the Over-18 Female category, Malicia Lawrence topped the podium, followed by Mickelly Rahaman in second and Alana Chung in third.
One category remains under review, as the Briggs and Stratton Senior Light results are currently pending due to an appeal. Race officials have confirmed that the final standings will be released once the appeal process has been completed.
