Kaieteur News – Three persons were on Monday remanded to prison for the alleged armed robbery of a supermarket in Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, during which the suspects reportedly carted off with $1.5 million.
The accused are 20-year-old Sherlon McBean, a construction worker of Nurney Village, Corentyne; 34-year-old Samantha Thomas, an unemployed resident of the Bangladesh Squatting Area, Port Mourant, Corentyne; and 21-year-old Steve Anthony Tsoi, a construction worker of Alness Village, Corentyne.

They were jointly charged with robbery under arms committed against 58-year-old Gurudat Sudhai, called “Zick,” a businessman of Lot 2 ‘B’ Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, Berbice, and owner of G. Sudhai Supermarket, on February 28.
The trio appeared before Magistrate Michelle Mathias at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to them.
They were not required to enter a plea to the indictable offence and were remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to March 30, 2026.
