(Kaieteur News) – The Ministry of Health said Monday that vouchers issued last year under the countrywide voucher programme are still valid and can be used this year.
According to the notice, all vouchers remain valid until the end of 2026.
Under the voucher programme, citizens can access the eye testing voucher which is valued at $2,000 and spectacles voucher, valued at $15,000; the cervical cancer screening voucher is valued $8,000 and are available to women ages 21 to 65. The Universal Health Vouchers which is valued at $10,000, is available to children and adults of all ages.
The ministry said vouchers can be uplifted from health centres nationwide.
On Thursday, the health ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with private health facilities to ensure the continued delivery of key healthcare voucher programmes for citizens across the country.
This initiative, the ministry disclosed reinforces the government’s commitment to ensuring quality healthcare for all citizens.
At the signing of the MOU, Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony announced that the government was making the eye testing and spectacles vouchers available to all citizens.
