The accident occurred at about 17:50hrs and involved motorcycle CR 523, driven by a 29-year-old man of Owen Street, Kitty, Georgetown who was accompanied by a 28-year-old female pillion rider of Barr Street, Kitty, Georgetown.
The Guyana Police Force in a statement on Wednesday detailed that the motorcycle was proceeding east along the northern carriageway of Industry Public Road and was reportedly travelling on the pedestrian walkway.
“A collision subsequently occurred between the motorcycle and the pedestrian. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist, pillion rider and pedestrian sustained injuries,” police said.

Mohabir later succumbed while receiving medical treatment. The pillion rider was admitted for observation, while the driver was treated and sent away.
Police have since reviewed CCTV footage from the area and are in the process of obtaining it as part of their ongoing investigations. A breathalyser test conducted on the motorcyclist revealed no trace of alcohol in his system.
The motorcycle has been lodged as investigations continue, and the driver remains in police custody assisting with the probe.
