Kaieteur News – Dwayne Stoby, a 38-year-old construction worker of Riverstown, Essequibo Coast was on Friday slapped with several traffic offences and was fined a total of $180,000.
Stoby appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir.
He was charged with the offences of unlicenced driver, uninsured motor vehicle, obscured identification mark (rear) and unlicensed motor vehicle, all contrary to the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 51:02.
He admitted to the charges and was fined $10,000 for unlicenced motor vehicle, in default two weeks’ imprisonment, $100,000 for obscured identification mark (rear), in default three months’ imprisonment, $30,000 for unlicenced driver, in default three months’ imprisonment and $40,000 for uninsured motor vehicle, in default three months’ imprisonment.
