Essequibo carpenter fined $200k for DUI
Kaieteur News – A forty-one-year-old carpenter of Huis T’ Dieren, Essequibo Coast, Region Two, has been fined $200,000 for a driving under the influence (DUI).
Totaram Narine
Totaram Narine appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir on Friday, February 20, at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court. He pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Huis T’ Dieren, he drove while his breath alcohol level exceeded the prescribed limit.
Narine was ordered to pay $200,000 fine for the offence or spend six months in prison.
