(Kaieteur News) – Three persons were on Friday released on $500,000 bail after being charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking when they appeared at the Bartica Magistrates’ Court.
Charged are Eric David, a 23-year-old construction worker of Three Miles; Keegon Cummings, a 25-year-old construction worker also of Three Miles; and Whitney Fraser, a 35-year-old businesswoman of Four Miles Housing Scheme.
The trio appeared via Zoom before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir, who read the charges to them.
David, Cummings and Fraser pled not guilty to the charge. The matter was adjourned to March 27, 2026, for continuation.

The growing “drug trade” is so profitable, the poor cannot help themselves being
in it. These arrested, 3 here, 1 there, yet another elsewhere, on top of the
reported Cocaine found in shipping containers- in Columbia and Europe tell
how attractive the rewards are, when not caught.
And, it all points to Guyana.
That poor man arrested for allegedly in possession when the drugs were
found buried under sand, below a cocoanut tree. He has lost a few thousands
dollars in his investment, like the others caught.
