(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Monday said that it is yet to confirm whether wanted murder suspect Jamal Bourne, also known as “Skinny,” has died following a viral video of him shooting himself in the head.
An investigation has been launched into the matter as there have been reports of a video making its rounds on social media showing Bourne who was wanted in connection with the murder of Akeem Hamer at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, on September 12, 2024, appearing to inflict a gunshot wound on himself on Sunday.
“During the broadcast, Bourne was also observed in the company of other individuals while allegedly displaying a cadre of suspected firearms. The video has since been removed from the page on which it was originally posted,” police said.
It went on to say that, “At this time, there is no official confirmation of his death and no reports have been received in any of the 12 policing regions of Guyana regarding the incident.” Nevertheless, the force is treating the matter seriously and is making all of the necessary enquiries to both verify the location of the video as well as the circumstances that surround the incident.
