(Kaieteur News) – Police have said that CCTV footage will be analysed to get further information in relation to the murder of Bare Root carpenter 37-year-old carpenter Homton Chichester, also called “Orlando”.
“The area was canvassed for CCTV cameras and footage was retrieved which will be analysed. Several persons were contacted and questioned,” police said in a statement on Monday. Chichester of Bare Root, Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara was on Sunday found with multiple gunshot wounds along the access road to his community about 19:30hrs.
Police said that an investigation has been launched into the matter. “Preliminary investigations revealed that the body of the deceased was found lying motionless along the Bare Root Access Road with suspected gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder areas. Emergency Medical Technicians responded to the scene and the deceased was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation,” police said in a statement.
There was also a motorcycle at the scene, which was secured by police as a part of the investigation. Chichester’s body was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Investigations continue.
