(Kaieteur News) – The Ministry of Home Affairs will spend an additional $74 million to fence the recently reconstructed $62 million Charity Police Station in Region Two.
This is according to a recent bid opening for the project by the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB).
According to the information provided, some 36 contractors bid to execute the works. They include Triple P Construction & General Supplies – $65,083,140; K&J Persaud Contracting Service – $64,573,140; A&R Naraine Contracting Services – $65,102,112; Javir’s Construction and Supplies General – $46,763,175; Sovereignty Investments Construction Service – $76,311,912; STP Investments Incorporated – $73,557,300; A.G Enterprise – $53,000,000; Top Tier Builders ; D.D.A Enterprise – $43,422,060; R&R General Construction and Supplies – $94,020,540; Alpha and Omega Engineering – $74,657,574; Wesley Haynes – $46,084,620; Mohamed Rafi Yusoof Construction – $106,080,612; D. Chowkai & Sons Construction – $121,159,680; P&N International – $49,063,530; Ceraturium – $47,560,050; Technocon Investments Procurement and General Contracting Solutions – $51,925,548; VG’s Construction Services – $ 52,062,840; Metal and Fabrication Ink- $ 80,000,000; Global Builders Engineering Incorporated – $ 105,112,020; Andrect Engineering & Construction – $ 87,468,264; Steff Construction – $ 60,913,227; and Green Plains Enterprise – $ 61,674,096.
Further, Seenaraine’s Construction & Landscaping Services – $ 40,978,602; IMS Construction and Logistics Services – $ 73,557,810; Ciachecal P3 Farms – $ 69,375,810; Amaya’s Trading – $ 123,178,170; Kawal Ramdeen General Construction & Office Furnishing – $ 72,571,980; Trevor & Son General Construction Services – $ 45,972,930; L. Pool Civil Works – $ 71,629,500; Dundas Construction Inc. – $ 42,080,202; Holistic Contracting & Procurement Inc. – $ 124,451,730; united Builders Engineering and General Supplies – $ 72,020,160; Vijay Persaud & Sons Contracting Services – $ 71,381,844; K and J Persaud Contracting Service – $ 27,145,250; and Ican Engineering & Construction – $ 73,740,900, all submitted bids.
Notably, the project is estimated to cost $74,385,030.
In July 2025, former Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn commissioned the reconstructed Charity Police Station.
The building cost $62.7 million and now features upgraded male, female, and juvenile lockups; a witness and ID parade room; marine and immigration offices; CID and traffic departments; and accommodation for officers.
The station also includes a child-friendly area and a unit dedicated to responding to domestic violence, making it one of the most modern and responsive stations in the region.
