(Kaieteur News) – Quincy Baird, a 37-year-old photographer of Plantation “B”, Herstelling, East Bank Demerara has been charged in connection with the alleged over $153M fraud at One Communications Guyana Inc.
On Monday Baird, who also owns the Shutter Studios appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Her Worship Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead and was granted bail in the sum of $1M.
The matter was adjourned to Wednesday February 11, 2026. As part of the bail conditions, Baird is required to lodge his passport with the court, have no contact with any One Communications Guyana Inc. employee and report every second Friday of the month to the CID Headquarters.
Police initially reported that they were investigating the matter allegedly committed by Baird called Q-man. The act, police said is reported to have occurred between July 1, 2021 and February 18, 2025.
On Tuesday December 23, 2025 about 16:33hrs, ranks from the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters conducted an operation on the East Bank Demerara where Baird was contacted in relation to the allegation. He was informed of the allegation, arrested and escorted to CID Headquarters.
