(Kaieteur News) – Police ranks acting on information intercepted a motor car at One Mile Turn, Soesdyke-Linden Highway on Monday morning with a quantity of marijuana.
In a press release police said a 31-year-old taxi driver of Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden has since been arrested. During the operation a search was conducted on the suspect and on the vehicle, during which a salt bag containing several bulky parcels containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and escorted to the Timehri Police Station along with the suspected cannabis, which was weighed in his presence and amounted to 8.903 kilograms. The suspected cannabis was lodged and the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
