(Kaieteur News) – Dem Boys Seh… you hearing dis? You hearing wha dem big-shot observers from de European Union just publish? Dem come here, dem watch everything from de mudflat to de mountain, and when dem write de book on de election, who dem call out for being fair? Not de government TV dem does run like dey own personal jukebox. Not de other paper dem dat does print every press release like gospel.
Nah, man!
Dem Boys Seh… de EU report say clear as day, in black and white, dat Kaieteur News and Stabroek News provide “a more balanced and equitable coverage of the campaign.” Balanced and equitable! While every other newspaper outlet was bending over backwards to show one side, de team at Kaieteur was de one making sure all a we could hear de whole story.
Dem Boys Seh… is one thing to talk, but is another thing to see de proof. De report show with chart and graph dat while de state paper dem was painting one picture in one colour, Kaieteur News was giving APNU 21% a de space, WIN 19%, and even de mighty PPP/C had to settle for 40%. Dat is wha you call sharing de mic! Dey never hide one party to big up another. Dem let de people hear all de voices, so we could make up we own mind.
And leh we tell yuh ‘bout tone! De report show dat Kaieteur was de only paper brave enough to hold de government’s feet to de fire, covering de PPP/C in a “predominantly negative tone.” Dem never just take de handout and smile. Dem ask de hard questions. Dem do de wuk.
So Dem Boys Seh… big up to Publisher Glenn Lall, to de Editors, and to every single reporter and staff at Kaieteur News. In a season of propaganda, y’all stood tall. Y’all prove dat you don’t need a government salary to have integrity.
Y’all wuk was so good, even an international observation mission had to stop and take notice and call y’all name for fairness. Dat is a victory not just for a newspaper, but for every single Guyanese citizen who believe in de truth. Respect!
Talk half. Leff half.
