Love can be a funny thing
(Kaieteur News) – Dem boys seh love is a funny thing. One minute yuh heart beating like a steel pan like is Mashramani, and the next minute yuh wondering if yuh didn’t drink too much rum before yuh decide that this is the woman for life.
One man was sitting beside he girlfriend one night and, feeling particularly romantic, he whispered, “I love you.”
She looked at him suspiciously and asked, “Is that you talking or the beer?”
The man didn’t hesitate. He said, “Is me talking to the beer.”
Dem boys seh that is what you call honesty in a relationship. The man love the woman, but he also have a deep and meaningful relationship with the beer. At least he wasn’t pretending.
Then there is this young man who tell he father that he fall in love with Sandra, the neighbour daughter.
The father nearly faint. “Sandra? Son, you can’t date she. She is your sister.”
The boy heart break, but after a few months he fall in love again with Angela, another neighbour daughter. The father nearly faint again. “Angela? She is your sister too.”
This happen six times. Six sisters! By this time the boy fed up and run to he mother crying. “Mom, Daddy doing me wrong! Every girl I fall in love with turn out to be my sister!”
The mother hug him and say, “Don’t worry, son. You can date whoever you want. He isn’t your father.”
But love does get even more complicated. A man and woman meet in heaven, fall madly in love and decide they want to marry. They go to God and ask for a wedding.
God say, “Give me some time.”
Four years later, God finally find a priest and marry them. But after a few more years, the couple fall out of love. So they go back to God and ask for a divorce.
God look at them and say, “It took me four years to find a priest up here. How long you think it gon take me to find a lawyer?”
