(Kaieteur News) – Chief Observer of the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to Guyana 2025, Robert Biedroń, returned to the country on Monday to present the Mission’s Final Report on the 2025 General and Regional Elections.

The report was formally handed over to the Chairperson of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Justice (ret’d) Claudette Singh. Discussions during the meeting centered on the Mission’s key recommendations aimed at strengthening future electoral processes and exploring steps for their effective implementation.
The Final Report covers the EU EOM’s observations of the September 1 General and Regional Elections, detailing assessments of the electoral process, campaign activities, political rallies, and the use of social media platforms by contesting parties. It also provides targeted recommendations to support improvements ahead of future elections and to promote enhanced transparency and credibility.
