(Kaieteur News) – Dem boys seh now that de dust settle and it clear like creek water that Guyana got to foot de bill fuh any extradition request from de United States, we should test out dis so-called “obligation.” Send in we own request fuh somebody over there and see if Uncle Trump gon pay de legal fees from there.
Ah betting he wouldn’t! In fact, if we so much as send a lil’ letter saying, “Please return this gentleman to face justice, and don’t forget to pay de legal fees for Guyana,” Trump gon slam on a tariff so fast, we might end up paying twice. Once fuh de lawyer and once fuh de insult. He might even call it “Extradition Duty”, payable before the ink dry.
Dem boys seh Guyana too kind-hearted. We always want to show we playing fair, even when de other side done tek de ball, de bat, and de stumps home. Paying legal fees fuh America request people from we? That like buying de rope fuh hang yuhself and then tipping de hangman!
Guyana shoulda never agree to that nonsense. If Uncle Sam want somebody, leh he pay de fare and de lawyer. After all, America always boasting how it’s the land of the free — free enterprise, free speech, and apparently, free extradition… paid by we!
And while we talking ‘bout free, dem boys want to know: when that gentleman was extradited to Guyana to face a murder charge, did Uncle Sam pay he share? Or we deh here picking up every tab like a man trying to impress a date who done plan to ghost him?
Dem boys seh next time America send an extradition request, tell dem “No problem. Just send de cheque first.” Because in dis modern world, even justice got expenses… and Guyana done tired being de one paying fuh everybody else’s law and order.
Talk half. Leff half.
