(Kaieteur News) – The second Latin festival is set to be hosted tomorrow by Global Tours and Travel (GlobalTT) company in collaboration with several Latin America embassies.
In a press release on Saturday, Global TT said that the second annual Fiesta Latina will be a vibrant celebration of Latin American food, culture, music and dance.
“The event will be held on Monday, October 20, at the Eve Leary Sports Club Ground in Kingston, beginning at 1:00 p.m. According to Waynewright Orderson, Chief Executive Officer of GlobalTT-Guyana, the festival promises “an unforgettable afternoon and evening filled with colour, rhythm, and flavour,” featuring authentic Latin American cuisine, beverages, and live entertainment throughout the day,” the statement said.
The participating embassies include the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico, each presenting their own national dishes, music, and cultural displays.
Pedro Pablo Martínez Azcuy, Director of Latin American & Caribbean Destinations, described Fiesta Latina as “a rare opportunity for Guyanese to experience the vibrancy of Latin culture firsthand.”
He went on to say, “This event brings together the growing Latin community and the wider Guyanese public in a spirit of friendship and cultural pride.”
The 2025 edition of the festival comes after the successful Fiesta Cubana and the inaugural Fiesta Latina in 2024, both organized by GlobalTT-Guyana to highlight Latin America’s presence in Guyana.
“There’s a growing Latin community here — Colombians, Cubans, Venezuelans, Dominicans, Mexicans — and this festival celebrates that connection through food, music, and dance,” Orderson noted.
At the event patrons can enjoy live performances from a Cuban band with lead singer María Rodríguez, showcases of Latin dances and younger patrons can enjoy the kids
For food lovers, there will be sample dishes from across the Latin American region, and beverage tents will offer drinks like cocktails, beers, wines, and premium cigars from Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
“Fiesta Latina 2025 will be Georgetown’s biggest celebration of Latin American culture a true expression of unity, diversity, and the joy of living la vida Latina,” Orderson said.
