(Kaieteur News) – The Regional Housing Office that the Ministry of Housing-Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) is establishing in Mabaruma, Region One is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
On Friday, subject Minister Colin Croal inspected the construction site for the office, and was informed of the completion date.
Moving to significantly enhance operational efficiency and service delivery, the ministry noted that this strategic location is designed to give residents better access to vital housing services.
Minister Croal said that upon completion, a Regional Housing Officer will be appointed to ensure residents have a dedicated point of contact for all housing matters. He said that the government is continuously seeking to better the lives of its people by ensuring services are delivered directly where needed.
“Following a land allocation exercise in Mabaruma a few months ago, the Ministry has seen an increase of house lot applications. Furthermore, with plans moving forward for a new housing development in the Matarkai sub-district, a local office is essential to manage the expanded activity,” the Ministry of Housing – Central Housing and Planning Authority stated.
