(Kaieteur News) – Dem boys did hear how eggs prices de lower. So, when dem boys did feeling lil peckish dem decide fuh go and fry a few eggs. Only to discover that the fridge did not have any eggs.
So dem boys decide to go to the supermarket to buy a tray. But lo’ and behold when dem boys reach up to the cashier, de price wah dem boys had to pay mek dem question what was the price of an egg. De cashier tell dem boys that each egg cost $80.
Imagine that. When dem boys was a lil boy, you get have gotten trays upon trays of eggs for $80. Now is one single egg fuh $80. Dem boys had to check to see if it was golden eggs. And yet de government talking about de increase in disposable income. All de income disposing pon eggs alone.
No wonder dem does gat so much quarrel in de kitchen some mornings. It remind dem boys about de story of de husband and he wife.
One morning a wife frying eggs fuh she husband.
All of a sudden, de husband appear behind she back an start hollerin:
“Careful, gyal, CAREFUL! Put more oil in de pan! You frying too much one time, TOO MUCH! Flip de egg, FLIP DEM QUICK! Put more oil, man, more OIL! Lawd, how yuh gon’ mek space fuh de oil now? Look, look! Dem egg stickin’ to de pan! Tek yuh time nah! You never listen when I deh in de kitchen! NEVER! Flip de ting done, hurry up! Yuh mad? Tek it easy, tek it easy! Nooo, yuh gon forget de salt! Dash lil’ salt, SALT, gyal!”
De wife spin ‘round and glare pon he: “Wha really wrong wid you? Yuh tink I cyan fry couple egg?”
De husband seh cool cool: “I just wanted fuh show yuh how it feel when me drivin’ an yuh in de car.”
Talk half. Leff half.
