(Kaieteur News) – Two bandits, one armed with a cutlass, pounced on 45-year-old Maressa Gilbert Mohabir of Section ‘D’ Sophia stealing a black and red Haojue motorcycle with registration #CN5875 valued at $225,000; a hand bag containing a Samsung cellphone valued at $30,000; $25,000 cash; Atm bank cards, ID cards and one Guyana driver’s license.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) in a statement said that the crime occurred at about 22:10h Thursday on West Palm Street, Lamaha Springs. According to the victim’s report, the two men are of African descent and identifiable.
“Investigations disclosed that on the date and time mentioned, the victim was proceeding in an eastern direction on her motorcycle when the two perpetrators rode past her on a motorcycle. They suddenly stopped a short distance and turned off the lights on their motorcycle. They then turned back facing in her direction, the pillion rider then dismounted the motorcycle and approached the victim, pulled a cutlass from his pants waist and placed the same to her neck.”
Police disclosed that the armed bandit relieved the woman of the items, pushed her off her motorcycle and rode off with it. His accomplice followed.
Mohabir made a report to the North Rumiveldt Police Station, where a report was made.
