Kaieteur Sports – The Price Is Right Supermarket T20 Blast Second Division cricket competition, which is the biggest in Berbice and possibly Guyana, is in its second edition. It is sponsored solely by Danesh Roopnarine [Boyco] of the Price Is Right Supermarket and organised by the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA).
The second edition of the Price Is Right T20 Blast Cricket competition for teams on the Upper Corentyne is at the Semi Finals stage. Two games were played recently.
In an anticipated fierce battle between No 64 Fighting Marines and Yakusari Caribe at the No 70 Spartan Ground. No 64 Fighting Marines won by 6 wickets.
Yakusari Caribs batted first and were dismissed for 117 with R. Bownauth 27 and A. Motie 24 were the top scorers.
Bowling for The Fighting Marines, L. Sandy picked up 4 wickets while T. Singh snared three.
In reply No 64 Fighting Marines led by C .France with 61 runs and S. Embarack 26 passed the score for the loss of four wickets.
In a match at the No 69 Vikings Ground between No 72 Cut N load and Crabwood Creek Sports Club.
No 72 Cut N load won by 16 runs. No 72 Cut N load took first strike and were dismissed for 97 with D. Chatterpaul making 36.
Crabwood Creek Sports Club in reply fell for 81 in 18.1 overs with I. Adams 31 the top scorer.
Bowing for No 72 Cut N Load D.Chatterpaul and D.Ramdat picked up three wickets each.
The teams remaining are: No. 72 All Star, No.64 Fighting Marines and No. 72 Cut N Load.
A drawing will be held to determine the two teams that will play while one team will draw the bye to the final which is set for the No. 69 Vikings Ground
Some 18 teams were registered to take part in the tournament which is being played on a knock out basis.
The teams that were scheduled to participate are- Crabwood Creek Sports Club, Crabwood Creek Bomb Squad, Crabwood Creek Gladiators, Line Path Cricket Club, Line Path Raptors, Skeldon Titans, Scottsburg United, No. 73 Young Warriors, No. 72 All Stars, No. 72 Cut N Load, No. 71 CC, No. 70 Spartans, No. 69 Vikings, No. 68 Turn Team , No. 64 Fighting Marines, No. 48 Challengers, No. 43 Scorpions and Yakusari Caribs.
