(Kaieteur News) – Guyana Amazon Warriors choked their chances of a straight flight to the finals after suffering another thrashing at the claws of the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, who booked their spot in the finals after a comprehensive 9 wicket win last night at the Kensington Oval, Barbados.
For the second time versus the Falcons this season, Warriors suffered a monumental collapse but unfortunately having it come during the all-important qualifier game.
After being sent in to bat first, Warriors’ batting lineup completely crumbled under pressure on a spin-friendly Kensington Oval turf; getting bowled out for a meager 76 in 15 overs.
The wreckage was primarily caused by a masterful bowling display from the Falcons’ spin duo who utilized the Googly to Great effect as the Warriors batters failed to pick the delivery which has been their undoing every time they have failed this season and twice now to the Falcons.
Pakistani wrist-spinner Shadab Khan who was absolutely lethal, tearing through the batting order to claim phenomenal figures of 4-16 in his four overs; also cementing himself as the 3rd player in CPL history to record a hat-trick.
He was perfectly complemented by wrist spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, who mirrored his performance by picking up 4-13.

Rahkeem Cornwall set the tone for the Falcons’ chase with a belligerent innings of 49 off 16 with 9 sixes
None of the Warriors’ star batsmen could build any momentum, with Shai Hope and Glenn Phillips managing just 16 runs each.
Falcons, with a highly achievable target of 77 to seal a spot in the finals finished on after a whirlwind start from the openers.
Burly power-hitter Rahkeem Cornwall showed why his presence remains a game-changer, as he nailed a 16-ball 49 with 9 massive sixes and 3 fours; narrowly missing what would have been possibly the joint fastest fifty in CPL (14 balls) or even better after putting on a pinch-hitter’s clinic.
Evin Lewis took a backseat before he too cut loose with 2 sixes and 2 fours in his 23* off 13 adding 71 for the first wicket alongside Cornwall before finishing the game with Amir Jangoo (4*) at his side.
Guyana will regroup as they face the Jamaica Kingsmen tonight with the winner going onto the final match this Sunday.
