He continued, “As you see the building is already enclosed, and we’re starting the framing of the walls, we’ve already installed 90 per cent of the AC ducts, about 90 per cent of the sprinkler system, so MEPs, that is mechanically electrical plumbing, so those are going way ahead of schedule. We’ve already installed most of the wastewater system, that’s the toilet pipes and the fresh water system.”
Addressing the media, Minister Walrond stated that the facility, when completed, will be the new Guyana Police Force (GPF) headquarters as well as the police divisional headquarters for ‘4A’. She noted that all the top-level leadership of the Police Force and the services being conducting at Eve Leary will relocate to the new Brickdam building.

“Cutting-edge policing, removing bureaucracy, removing archaic methods of doing things, and so this building is just a metaphor for all of the things that we would be expecting from the police force and ultimately, also it’s to make sure the welfare of our ranks is extremely important to us. When we are requiring people to meet our world-class services, we will have to make sure that their welfare is also well taken care of and accommodations such as these, where they’re able to come into comfortable environment, one that speaks of professionalism and the future of where we’re taking Guyana,” she said.

The complex will also be equipped with advanced CCTV monitoring and access to control systems, a robust telephone and data network which will facilitate seamless communication within the facility and will have duo elevators and staircases strategically placed.
It will also feature central departments such as traffic, finance, the impact base, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), among others.
