Gold miner busted with cocaine at Ogle airport remanded

Kaieteur News – A 44-year-old gold miner who was busted with 26.7lbs of cocaine at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport, Ogle, East Coast Demerara in August, was on Monday remanded to prison for the offence.
Junior Anthony Greaves of Kitty, Georgetown and Port Kaituma Water Front in Region One, made his first court appearance at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs, where the charge was read to him.
Greaves, who was arrested on August 24 at the airport, pleaded not guilty to the crime.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) reported that Greaves was arrested on August 24 at the airport, and charged on August 26 for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
He is scheduled to return to court on September 19, 2025 for disclosure.
