CPL – The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) yesterday announced BYD, the world’s No. 1 new energy vehicle brand by sales, as an official sponsor for the tournament. This landmark partnership brings together the Caribbean’s biggest cricket celebration and one of the world’s leading innovators in sustainable mobility and clean energy solutions.
Founded in 1994, BYD is a global high-tech company dedicated to leveraging technological innovations for a better life. Over the past three decades, BYD has become a powerhouse across electronics, automotive, renewable energy, and rail transit, focusing on integrated solutions for clean energy acquisition, storage, and application.
The brand’s automotive division leads the world in new energy vehicle sales and continues to expand its footprint globally. In the Caribbean, BYD is already represented in Antigua, Aruba, Bonaire, Barbados, Curaçao, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad, with a new Saint Lucia showroom set to open before the end of the year.
