Kaieteur News – A 17-year-old boy stabbed his step-father to death on Thursday night at Mathews Ridge, Region one, after he (the stepfather) returned home drunk and began abusing his mother. The dead man has been identified as Ryan Thomas.
Police are yet to release a statement on the killing, but Kaieteur News learnt that Thomas was stabbed in the neck. Kaieteur News understands that the deceased habitually abused his common-law wife each time he consumed alcohol. The abuse has reportedly been occurring for years and Thomas has also been accused of sexually assaulting another female living in his home.
On Thursday, he reportedly got drunk and went home. Everyone was asleep when he arrived. He reportedly started behaving disorderly and his common-law-wife confronted him. He then began abusing her, which led to his step-son coming to her defence. Things took a deadly turn when the teen armed himself with a knife and stabbed Thomas to death.
