Ex-boyfriend arrested for murder of Linden Teacher
Shot dead by her ex-boyfriend, Jenel Pollydore
Kaieteur News – Police on Sunday arrested the prime suspect in the murder of a nursery school teacher, Jenel Pollydore during a wedding reception at Linden, Region Ten Saturday evening.
The man has been identified as her ex-boyfriend Shaka Phillips, also known as ‘Concrete Man’, a 21-year-old unemployed resident of Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden.
According to police he was nabbed around 15:35 hrs. at South Amelia’s Ward.
Eyewitnesses claim that Phillips was the shooter who took Pollydore’s life at the R&R Hotel, Central Amelia’s Ward.
The 26-year-old teacher from lower Kara Kara, Linden had separated from Phillips because of abuse.
She had obtained a restraining order against him but her relatives said it was no use.
They reportedly had to resort to changing their locks on the door to protect her from him.
At around 21:30 hrs. on Saturday, their worst fears came true at a wedding reception she was attending with her niece.
The niece, MalikaPollydore recalled that her aunt was standing by the gate in front of the R&R hotel when the suspect approached her.

He reportedly asked why she was not answering the phone. An argument ensued between them.
Things took a deadly turn when he pulled out a gun and shot at her.
Pollydore ran for her life. Reports are that she ran into the hotel by the pool area but Phillips chased behind her and fired two more shots at her before running away.
Pollydore was hit and fell to the ground where she remained motionless.
The police were called in and when they arrived at the scene, Pollydore was already dead.
Crime sleuths reported that Pollydore was shot twice, once in the back of the head and once in her face.
Two 9MM spent shells were also recovered from the scene.
Investigations continue.
