Driver in hit and run that killed teen mom, baby remanded
Kaieteur News- A driver involved in a fatal hit and run was remanded to prison on Thursday after four-months of hiding from the law.

The defendant identified as Avinash Naidoo, 32, was the driver of a hire car, HC 8905 that stuck a teenage couple and their nine-month-old baby off an electric bike in March. The accident took place at Corentyne, Berbice, Region Six and resulted in the death of the baby, Phavita Surujnarine and her mother 19-year-old Kavita Bedsan.
Killed in a hit and run along with her 9-month-old daughter, Kavita Bedsan.
An intelligence led operation resulted in the capture and arrest of the driver on Tuesday at Line Path, Corentyne Berbice.
He appeared at that the Springlands Magistrate Court on Thursday before Magistrate Tuanna Hardy.

Naidoo was slapped with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, three counts of failure to render assistance, failure to stop and failure to report and accident.
He was not required to plead the causing death by dangerous driving charge but was able plead not guilty to the rest.
