Driver killed after crashing car into parked truck

Killed in a car crash, Kevindra Tuleram
Kaieteur News – A religious singer and drummer died tragically on Saturday after he reportedly crashed his car into a parked truck along the public road at Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Dead is 43-year-old Kevindra Tularam of Lot 20 David Rose Scheme, Unity, ECD.
The truck driver told police that he had parked his truck at the side of the Good Hope Railway Embankment Road at Mahaica with the hazard lights to check a sound coming from the vehicle.
His porter was in the process of checking out the noise when a car slammed into the back of the truck around 18:50 hrs.
The truck driver recalled that he jumped out of the truck after he heard a loud noise caused by the impact.
Cellphone recorded videos and photographs taken immediately after the accident showed an almost mangled grey car, partially stuck underneath the truck’s trailer.
The driver, later identified as Tuleram, was pinned. In one of the photos, a hand could be seen sticking out from the wreck.
Police said Tuleram was pulled from the wreckage with multiple injuries to his body and rushed to the newly-commissioned Enmore Regional Hospital by “public-spirited citizens”.
He was subsequently pronounced dead on arrival.
News of Tuleram’s tragic demise has been met with an outpouring of tributes across social media platforms.
