82 killed in Gaza Sunday by Israeli attacks across the enclave

(AL-JAZEERA) The Palestinian Health Ministry says at least 80 bodies and 304 wounded people have arrived at hospitals across Gaza over the past 24 hours.

Sources at Gaza’s hospitals have told Al Jazeera Arabic that 10 Palestinians were killed by Israeli army fire near aid distribution centres operated by the US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) since this morning.

Five of them were killed near the Netzarim Corridor, which is located just south of Gaza City and splits the Strip down the middle

Another 61 people were killed by Israeli attacks across Gaza Sunday. In the occupied West Bank, one Palestinian was killed and several wounded as Israeli forces stormed two homes in the town of Salem, east of Nablus.

Israel’s public broadcaster Kan reported that negotiators are heading to Qatar for indirect talks with Hamas.

Rescuers in Gaza City have used their bare hands to search rubble after Israeli strikes destroyed two residential buildings sheltering displaced Palestinian families.

The midnight attack on the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood killed dozens, with victims still trapped under debris.

Witnesses described apocalyptic scenes as neighbours retrieved body parts from trees. “We pulled two survivors out after three hours,” one rescuer said.

At least three people have been killed in an Israeli attack on as-Saftawi neighbourhood, in the northwest of Gaza City, a source at al-Shifa Hospital tells Al Jazeera.

Trump said last week that Israel had agreed to the conditions for a 60-day ceasefire and negotiators could meet again to carve out a path to ending Israel’s nearly 21-month-long war on Gaza.

Hamas said it delivered a “positive response” to mediators with amendments. Netanyahu called the Palestinian group’s changes “unacceptable” but sent negotiators to Qatar for talks nonetheless.

Netanyahu on Monday is to visit Washington, DC, where reports said Trump would like a deal.

Since Israel broke the ceasefire with Hamas on March 18, at least 6,860 Palestinians have been killed and more than 24,220 wounded.

Since the start of the war on Gaza in October 2023, Israeli forces have killed at least 57,418 Palestinians and wounded 136,261, with thousands of additional victims buried under the rubble.
