Kaieteur Sports – The countdown has begun for the most anticipated horse racing event of the year, the 17th edition of The Guyana Cup & Super Concert 2025. Patrons will be treated to the thrills, speed and excitement of internationally acclaimed horses from winning bloodlines worldwide.
The biggest names and stables from across Guyana will clash for the glory and prestige of the main event, ‘The Guyana Cup’ on Sunday, 17th August, 2025 at the historic Rising Sun Turf Club in Region Five, Berbice.
The event has cemented its status as Guyana’s premier horse racing event, drawing top competitors and fans from across the country and the Caribbean. This year’s edition promises to be bigger and more thrilling than ever, with a full day of racing and entertainment.
The Guyana Cup will showcase 11 race categories, which is expected to attract a massive patronage with all eyes set on Olympic Kremlin, last year’s winner.
The gates will open at 9:00hrs with an array of new attractions and VIP layouts that are expected to amuse all in attendance. This year, patrons can look forward to the introduction of the Banks Village, which will be an interactive and immersive experience from the major brands of Banks DIH. Families can expect lots of giveaways from product sampling, bouncy castles and novelty games. This year, the purse was doubled to a record-breaking GYD$50,000,000, which will guarantee the stiffest competition in a single event in the history of Guyana.

Through the fusion of Horse Racing & Entertainment, especially from the huge success in 2022 and 2023, a mega concert will showcase the best in Soca, Chutney & Dancehall that will commence at 19:00hrs. The early bird tickets are now available nationwide and will be offered while stocks last. The organisers have assured patrons through their social media advertising that tickets will be delivered across Guyana to ensure patrons have a hassle-free experience.
When contacted, event promoter Nasrudeen ‘Jr’ Mohamed indicated, “We’re excited to once again bring the premiere event to Guyana with the Guyana Cup& Super Concert. Rising Sun Turf Club is being prepared for one of the most spectacular presentations ever attempted in this region.”
