Kaieteur Sports – The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) awards ceremony is set for today, June 28, at the St. Francis Community Developers (SFCD), Port Mourant Corentyne, Berbice.
Over 30 awards are expected to be distributed during the ceremony which is slated to get underway at 16:00.
The feature address will be delivered by Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat. The Minister is Berbician and also the Patron of the BCB who has been supporting most of its activities.
Remarks will also be given by Regional Executive Officer, Narendra Persaud, among others.
The BCB regularly holds awards ceremonies to honour outstanding players, clubs, officials, umpires, sponsors and others who assisted the BCB over the year in delivering on its mandate.
A number of categories have been listed for consideration for awards and the BCB has finalised all arrangements for the respected individuals and organisations to be awarded.
The list of awardees includes – Under 13 Cricketer of the Year, under 15 Cricketer of the Year, under 17 Cricketer of the Year, under 19 Cricketer of the Year – male, under 19 Cricketer of the Year – female, Senior Cricketer of the Year – male and Senior Cricketer of the year – female.
Most improved cricketer of the year – junior, most improved female cricketer of the year, most improved cricketer of the year. Club of the year – senior, club of the year – junior, Most discipline player of the year, second division player of the year and umpire of the year.
