Kaieteur Sports – On August 2, the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall will transform into a cauldron of fists and fire, as three of Guyana’s biggest names, Elton “The Bully” Dharry, Keevin “Lightning” Allicock, and Dexter “The Kid” Marques, step back into the ring for what promises to be fireworks from the opening bell.
Tickets for the Pro-Am card will go on sale from July 1.
The bout is the final tune-up before Guyana hosts its first-ever male World Title fight in September, with Dharry expected to headline in the bout of his life.
A veteran of the global fight scene, Elton Dharry is sharpening his tools ahead of his world title bid.
With over 25 pro wins and a resume that includes a gutsy war against Andrew Moloney for the WBA Interim Super Flyweight Title in 2019, Dharry brings power, precision, and pure grit back to the ring. His return signals a mission to bring a world championship home.
Meanwhile, for Allicock, he’s fast, he’s slick, and he’s undefeated. The Tokyo Olympian and national standout has seamlessly transitioned from amateur sensation to pro prospect.
Known for his explosive speed and laser-like accuracy, Allicock has the swagger of a star in the making. On August 2, fans can expect another masterclass from the Caribbean’s finest young talent.
Dexter Marques, the “Old Lion Roars Again” and at 38, he may be the elder statesman of the card, but his fire hasn’t faded.
The former CABOFE Flyweight Champion returns to the ring with over 20 years of battle-tested experience.
Built on discipline and ring savvy, Marques remains a dangerous contender, and a living example that age is just another round to overcome.
Beyond the headline bouts, the undercard will showcase a stacked lineup of elite amateurs, hungry young warriors looking to punch their way into the spotlight. From rising stars to national champs, the future of Guyanese boxing will be on full display.
