Police said the robbery occurred around 23:15 hrs.
According to details, the bandit reportedly entered the snackette and cuffed the sales clerk, a 20-year-old man, to the face before pointing the gun at him. The bandit then grabbed a small box containing money and started running.
The sales clerk and two other men chased behind him. He reportedly shot at them several times before disappearing into Leopold Street.
Police ranks on mobile patrol were alerted of the robbery and tracked him down in Leopold Street.
He was apprehended and, when questioned about the firearm and cash, said he threw the money in a drain.
Police searched the drain but found nothing.
