GHB-Kellogg’s U14 Indoor Hockey League…
Kaieteur Sports- After four days of fast-paced, action-packed play, the group stages of the 2025 Kellogg’s Developmental Under-14 Indoor Hockey League have concluded, with SHC Slayers (Girls), GCC Pitbulls, and OFHC Show Stoppers emerging as group toppers in their respective divisions. Friday’s evening matches brought the round-robin phase to an exhilarating close, setting the stage for intense playoff and quarterfinal clashes in the coming week.
In the Girls division, Saints Hockey Club (SHC) Slayers have been the team to beat, securing a perfect 12 points from their group-stage outings. They sit comfortably at the top of the table, followed by Old Fort Hockey Club (OFHC) High Fliers in second with nine points. Multi currently occupies the third spot with four points, while SHC Sensations and GCC Her-ricanes round out the standings in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Friday night saw the Slayers continue their dominant run, thrashing GCC Her-ricanes 5-0, led by a sensational hat-trick from Carenza Copeland. In the other Girls’ matchup, Multi narrowly edged SHC Sensations 1-0 to consolidate their hold on third place.
The Boys division, split into two groups, also witnessed a shake-up in the standings after Friday’s fixtures.
In Group A, GCC Pitbulls maintained their unbeaten streak, finishing with 12 points. OFHC Gladiators closely follow with nine points, while OFHC Warriors are in third on six points. SHC Sigma’s 4-2 win over Hikers Hatchets on Friday boosts their confidence ahead of the classification battle, while Hatchets will now have to fight for survival.
Group B is being led by a dominant OFHC Show Stoppers side, who now sit atop the group with five points, ahead of second-place Multi. SHC Scorpions and SHC Snipers are placed third and fourth, respectively, with the Snipers managing a 1-1 draw against Multi on Friday. Additional Friday results included OFHC Show Stoppers edging SHC Scorpions 2-1 and OFHC Gladiators cruising past OFHC Warriors with a commanding 6-1 victory.
The league resumes next Friday at St Stanislaus College, with playoff and Boys quarterfinal fixtures headlining the evening. In the Girls division, fourth-placed SHC Sensations will go head-to-head with fifth-placed GCC Her-ricanes in a playoff to determine the final semi-final spot.
Meanwhile, in the Boys division, Hikers Hatchets (5th in Group A) and SHC Snipers (4th in Group B) will face off in a crucial playoff for a place in the quarterfinals, which are scheduled to follow next week.
