Kaieteur Sports- The stage is set for what promises to be a thrilling evening of competition and camaraderie as the Clash of Champions Eight-Ball Pool Championship breaks off tomorrow (Saturday) at the Boathouse bar, located on the Land of Canaan Public Road.
With a whopping $240,000 in total prizes up for grabs, some of Guyana’s finest cue artists are expected to chalk their sticks and battle for supremacy on the felt in a venue known for its relaxed, fun-loving atmosphere.
The tournament, slated for Saturday, May 31, is already being hailed as one of the most lucrative single-day pool events in the country. Competition is open to all, with an entry fee of $5,000, giving players a shot at the grand prize of $150,000 in cash.
In a move to reward excellence throughout the field, organisers have introduced cash prizes for the top four finishers. The second-place winner will pocket $50,000, third place earns $30,000, and the fourth-place finisher will walk away with $10,000.
As anticipation builds, interest has surged from players across the region, with registration numbers already reflecting a competitive and diverse field. The event not only highlights the growing popularity of Pool in Guyana, but also its unique ability to bring together both young and seasoned players in spirited competition.
First break is scheduled for 5:00 p.m., and latecomers should note that registration closes promptly at 8:00 p.m. Whether you’re aiming for glory or just soaking in the action, the Clash of Champions is shaping up to be a must-see event on the local sports calendar.
