Kaieteur News- A 58-year-old man lost his life on Sunday afternoon in a jet-ski accident at the Splashmins Fun Park and Village, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
Dead is Joseph Sahadeo of Lot 167 Grant Ville Park, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
The accident occurred at approximately 13:00 hrs.
Police in a statement said that Sahadeo left home with his wife Goumattie Singh, his daughter Padmini Sahadeo and other relatives for the fun park and village. They took the two jet-skis that were placed in the water upon arrival.
“The now deceased mounted one of the jet-skis, while his daughter, Padmini, and her friend were on the other. It is alleged that the now deceased collided with the jet-ski, which Padmini was on and hit his head. He fell into the water and was rescued by family and friends,” police said.
Sahadeo was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead. Police said that visible injuries were seen on Sahadeo’s head and face.
His body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral home where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
