Kaieteur News- Three men who are accused of murdering 61-year-old Aubrey Richardson in September 2024 were remanded to prison on March 6, 2025, when they appeared at the Friendship Magistrates’ Court.
The defendants, 19-year-old Carlton Antwan Sampson called ‘Skeng’ or ‘Cartoon’ of Circuitville Soesdyke Highway; 26-year-old Dwayne Neil Winter called ‘Drizzle’ of Section ‘C’ Block ‘Y’ Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara, and 36-year-old Brutus Taylor of 16th Avenue, Diamond, East Bank Demerara, were not required to plead to the indictable charge which was read to them by Magistrate Wanda Fortune.
They were remanded to prison until May 30, 2025.
Richardson was shot during an alleged robbery at ‘Sattie Shop’ on August 24, 2024. He had left his Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke-Linden Highway residence at approximately 20:30hrs in the company of his friend to go to the shop. He was rushed to the hospital, where he spent almost two weeks in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) before he died on September 5, 2024. A post-mortem examination done on Richardson’s body revealed that he died of septic shock due to injuries caused by a single gunshot.
