Kaieteur News- A 23-year-old businessman is hospitalised after he was shot during an altercation at Perseverance Village, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.
The injured man has been identified as Ijaaz Arjune.
The two men who were arrested have been identified only as a 24-year-old and a 27-year-old.
The incident reportedly occurred at 01:45h, after the duo, who was in a black motorcar, had a conflict with the businessman.
Police related that after the shooting, the victim was transported to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital, where he was treated, and later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
Police said in the press release, a .32 pistol and nine matching rounds were recovered at the scene and have been lodged.
