(Kaieteur News) – Families across Guyana are being invited to take part in what Event Manager Natalya Thomas describes as one of the largest children’s entertainment events ever staged in the country – the Play Land Carnival Children Show, set for Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Guyana National Stadium.
Running from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the event promises a full day of activities, with patrons encouraged to arrive early to experience the wide array of attractions planned throughout the venue.
The stadium’s tarmac will be transformed into a safari-themed play park, featuring multiple interactive zones tailored for children between the ages of three and 16. The event is being organised by DACCO Guyana in collaboration with Kids Fest 592, both of which aim to deliver a world-class entertainment experience for families.
Thomas shared that the entire space will be utilised, with participation from major children’s event rental providers nationwide to ensure a diverse lineup of attractions.
She said children and families can look forward to a variety of entertainment options, including bouncy castles, trampolines, novelty games, and interactive play zones. The event will also feature go-kart racing, SIM racing, sports car displays, and a Kids Fest Pageant.
Additional highlights include appearances by popular cartoon characters, a kids spa experience, and a DIY Creative Zone offering hands-on arts, crafts, and building activities. A specially designed “Squid Game Experience (Kids edition)” will present interactive versions of challenge-style games adapted for younger audiences.
According to Thomas, the day’s activities will conclude with a major concert featuring more than 15 performers, including former youth competition winners, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Play Land 2026 is also being recognised as an official children’s event commemorating Guyana’s 60th Independence Anniversary. In a push to ensure widespread participation, Thomas said organisers have launched a nationwide ticket distribution initiative aimed at reaching children from underserved communities. Corporate sponsors are being encouraged to contribute through a donation program that will provide access to those who might otherwise be unable to attend.
“For over 12 years, I’ve been planning events in Guyana, and Play Land represents a major step toward expanding our reach,” Thomas said. “This event was created to give children from every corner of Guyana a safe and exciting space where they can freely enjoy rides and attractions.”
She added that all unused areas of the venue will be secured and that organisers have worked extensively to maintain a controlled and safe environment throughout the day.
Families are being urged to take advantage of early bird specials while supplies last and organizers are stressing that arriving early will allow patrons to fully enjoy the extensive lineup of activities.
