Adriana Younge to be laid to rest next Monday
Kaieteur News- Eleven-year-old Adriana Younge will be laid to rest on Monday, May 5, 2025, some 11 days after her body was pulled from the Double Day Hotel pool, at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE).
Family members confirmed the date on Tuesday.
Younge was reported missing last Wednesday, moments after arriving at the popular hotel with relatives to swim in the pool. Despite checks in the pool and hotel, she was not found. Her body later surfaced in the pool Thursday morning, resulting in a massive fiery protest, destroying both the hotel and home of the hotel’s owner.
Police, in an initial statement last Wednesday, claimed they had reviewed footage which showed the child leaving the hotel and was spirited away in a Raum motorcar.
Following the discovery of her body, the police revealed that they had in fact, released an inaccurate missive the day before.
A post-mortem examination (PME) conducted on Younge’s remains on Monday concluded that she died by drowning.
