Kaieteur News- The PNCR/APNU said it is deeply concerned by the unsettling incident involving the disappearance of 11-year-old Adrianna Younge from the Double Day Hotel at Tuschen Public Road, East Bank Essequibo, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
In a statement the party said the child was reported missing around 1:30 AM, and our party stands in solidarity with her family during this distressing time.
Earlier today, the General Secretary of the PNCR visited the site and met with Adrianna’s parents and relatives to offer our support and to gather information regarding the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. The family has voiced their apprehension over the situation, reiterating police claims that Adrianna was seen being taken away from the hotel in a black Raum motor car. Disturbingly, family members reported that they viewed footage from a neighbouring building that shows Adrianna along with others entering the hotel, but does not show her exiting, raising serious concerns about her safety.
During the visit, the General Secretary engaged with the Regional Commander of Police via telephone, who indicated that both law enforcement and the children’s family were permitted to search the building. However, it was reported that Adrianna was not located despite these efforts. Additionally, family members expressed frustration over being prohibited from searching certain areas of the hotel, particularly the back entrance and yard, which could potentially hold crucial evidence.
The parents further alleged that during their attempts to investigate the situation, the grandfather of the child was threatened with a firearm by the hotel owner, who is currently in police custody. This alarming behaviour raises broader questions regarding the safety protocols and responsibilities of establishments that accommodate families and vulnerable individuals.
The PNCR/APNU unequivocally condemns all acts of intimidation or obstruction that compromise the safety and well-being of our children. We call upon the authorities to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances of Adrianna’s disappearance and the allegations against the hotel owner.
Our party urges the public to remain vigilant and provide any information that may lead to finding Adrianna. We implore the community to come together to support the family during this trying time and hold those responsible accountable.
The APNU/PNCR will continue to monitor this situation closely and provide updates as necessary.

Extremely poor performance by the GPF. From the time of the initial reports the hotel should have been under lockdown. A search warrant should have been obtained to seize the surveillance recorder and fully search the hotel and everywhere within its perimeters. The surveillance system should have therein analyzed. In addition, an “Amber Alert” should have been issued on all TV channels with a photograph and description on Adrianna. This must be a standard procedure. A full team of police should have been involved in searching everywhere in the presence of the family. In short, the police should have had total control of the Hotel. All people within the premises (employees and guests) should have been interviewed. With this basic approach results could be faster. The burning of the hotel has destroyed all physical evidence. Hence, the Police must rely totally on the John E Reid technique or system of interrogation to extract information from the suspects and all staff members of the Hotel including the owners. Only very experienced and trained Police must be involved in this high-pressure interrogation tactics to gain the best results from unwilling suspects.
This case like possibly many others, have shown poor or low level of training and the proper implementation of Police procedures on how to handle a crime scene. Is this a lack of basic common sense? Further, the police must reopen the previous case involving the man who was also found in the swimming pool. This seems to be a pattern to coverup whatever happened to both victims. An investigation must also be done to ascertain the relationship and connection between the hotel’s owner and the Police This old case must be reopened to find out why the accused persons were freed of the charges. Every guilty person must be brought to justice with the maximum penalty imposed.
